The people and the story

The Kaminuza Star is produced by students of the School of Journalism and Communication at the University of Rwanda. The objective of the newspaper is to provide a practical platform for students to hone their skills in reporting and writing stories of interest to the university community and the society in general. Special thanks to The New Times for their editorial advisory and publishing of this newspaper.


Fiona Muthoni
Fiona Muthoni is a year four student at SJC and the Editor in Chief of the Kaminuza Star. She did both her primary and secondary education in Kenya. Fiona is dedicated to work and serve the people by working alongside her collegues at the Kaminuza Star newspaper, and she will fulfill her role as editor in chief with devotion, passion and honesty.


Alafati Mugabo
Alafat Mugabo has studied languages at St Joseph High Scool Uganda. He proceeded to work part time on capital FM Uganda as a reporter for a year and now studies Journalism at SJC. In his free time, he is acting as a deputy editor in chief at the Kaminuza Star and loves reading books.


Germain Nsanzimana
Germain Nsanzimana is a third year studet at School of Journalism Communication(SJC). He has contributed in different local media houses including Imvaho Nshya,Kinyamateka and Ibishya.net


Irene Pacifique Kwizera
Irene Pacifique Kwizerais a second year student at SJC. He has contributed with photos for several local media houses. Kwizera went to College du Christ Roi Nyanza in southern province.


Viviane Irabizi
Viviane Irabizi is a second year student at school of Journalism and Communication. She has contributed with articles for local media outlet Montjali.net. She has also done internership in reporting at contact FM, a radio production.
