Kirehe District ranked first nationwide in both the 2024/2025 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) and Ordinary Level (O-Level) results, according to the Ministry of Education’s announcement on August 19.

In PLE, Kirehe achieved a pass rate of over 97%, while in O-Level it led with 91.3%, placing it ahead of all other districts.
Ngoma and Kayonza followed closely in O-Level results, with pass rates exceeding 78%, while PLE top performers include Kicukiro (92.28%) and Ngoma (90.93%).
At the lower end, the ranking shows the district with lower results. In PLE, Nyaruguru (64.57%), Ruhango (66.68%), and Nyabihu (68.99%) were among the lowest performers. For O-Level, Musanze District recorded the lowest pass rate at 44.6%, followed by Kamonyi (45%) and Gakenke (46%).
These results highlight the clear contrast between districts that are excelling and those facing challenges, emphasizing the need to continue improving education standards nationwide. They also emphasize the impact of strong teaching, school management, and community support in achieving high academic performance.
