
Rwanda’s Chief of Defence Staff, Gen MK Mubarakh, participated in the 34th Policy Organs Meeting of the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) held in Mogadishu, Somalia, from July 17 to 19, 2025.
He was joined by CP G. Rumanzi, who represented the Inspector General of Police.
According to the RDF statement, the meeting deliberated on key Policy and Strategic issues aimed at enhancing Peace and Security in the Region.

The high-level meeting brought together Chiefs of Defence Staff and senior security officials from EASF Member States to deliberate on key policy and strategic matters aimed at strengthening peace and security in the region.
Out of the ten member states, nine were represented: Burundi, Comoros, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, Sudan, and Uganda. Seychelles did not attend the meeting.
The EASF is a regional mechanism under the African Union’s Peace and Security Architecture, designed to provide rapid response to conflicts and crises across Eastern Africa.
