Kendrick Lamar has reignited his long-running feud with fellow rapper Drake, sparking renewed debate on social media following a pointed moment during his latest live performance.
During the opening night of the GNX Tour in Minneapolis on 19 April 2025, a joint tour with singer SZA, Lamar appeared to mock Drake by briefly playing a line from his rival’s track “Family Matters”, repeating the phrase “drop, drop, drop”, which drew an uproar from the crowd.
The performance preceded Lamar’s rendition of “Not Like Us”, a song that has earned critical acclaim and several awards, including five Grammy Awards.
The Minneapolis show marked the beginning of a global tour that will cover the United States and several other regions.
Lamar and Drake’s public feud, which began nearly a year ago, has produced some of the most talked-about diss tracks in recent hip-hop history.
Lamar’s “Not Like Us” and “Euphoria”, alongside Drake’s “Family Matters” and “Push Ups”, have been central to the ongoing lyrical battle.
However, the feud has taken a more serious turn. Drake has expressed concern over certain lyrics, particularly Lamar’s reference to him as a “pedophile” in “Not Like Us”.
The Canadian rapper, supported by his legal team, is reportedly pursuing legal action against Lamar and Universal Music Group, accusing them of promoting defamatory content.
