UR online application open for 2020-2021 academic year

UR application is open until July 31st. It allows Rwandan and international students to apply.

It was announced via UR twitter account on 9th June that undergraduate students who will be studying in all official UR campus around the country can apply.

Allowed applicants are required to have passed at least two principal subjects with 18 marks for those who will be studying in College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS), College of Business and Economics (CBE), College of Education (CE) and 21 marks in two subjects for those who will attend College of Medicine and Health Sciences (CMHS) and College of Science and Technology (CST) and College of Agriculture, Animal Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (CAVM).

Non-refundable Rwf5,000 for Rwandan students and Rwf6,000 for international students. The amount is paid via various bank accounts mentioned by UR statement.

Please note that no payment is done via any BK agent. Applicants are advised to join any nearby UR campus for to safely register and avoid cyber-related problems.

Compared to previous years, the opening has been one-month late since it had been starting in May and run up until July for the last three years.

Kaminuza Star tried to contact the University’s registrar to find out about the delay and if it is connected to the Covid-19 pandemic, but our efforts were futile by the time of press.

All teaching activities at the University of Rwanda has been suspended since March as one of precautionary measure to avoid the spread of Coronavirus. It is expected to reopen in September.
