The Vice Chancellor of the University of Rwanda,Prof. Phillip Cotton was given the award of Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) by Her Majesty the Queen of England.
This prestigious and rare award bestowed to Prof. Phillip Cotton by the queen was presented to him by the British High Commissioner to Rwanda His Excellency William Gelling.
The honor comes as a recognition of Prof. Cotton’s long services in Rwanda especially in education and health sectors.
Before his appointments as the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Rwanda, Phil Cotton was the principal of one of UR’s Colleges- Medicine and Health Sciences.
Due to his experience and devotion in health related endeavors, he was appointed as the chair of Board of Committee at the Rwanda Biomedical Center.
